EuroCloud Awards 2018-2019 Competition starts in November 2018.

The EuroCloud Awards recognize digital services from Europe and around the world based on underlying cloud computing technology. Inclusiveness is a central attribute of the EuroCloud Awards, which therefore accept entries:

  • from around the world without any geographical restraint;
  • from all types of business services: consulting, data center, cloud brokerage, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, ... 
  • from all types of emerging technologies: IoT, AI, VR, blockchain , 3D printing, drones, …

The EuroCloud Awards feature a two-stage competition process and are open to any cloud-computing-based service that can potentially be assessed in the StarAudit Quality Scheme: https://staraudit.org/assessment

Costs

Entries to the first stage of the EuroCloud Awards must submit to a service quality check using the StarAudit Assessment Quality Scheme (https://staraudit.org). The entry costs for the first stage are €75 + VAT per service. Checked and verified quality services can then be entered into the second stage of the EuroCloud Awards competition at a cost of €500 + VAT per each service in its unique category.

 

Rules of Entry

  1. The EuroCloud Awards recognize digital services from Europe and around the world based on underlying cloud computing technology. Inclusiveness is a central attribute of the EuroCloud Awards, which therefore accept entries from around the world without any geographical restraint, from all types of business services: consulting, data center, cloud brokerage, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, from all types of emerging technologies: IoT, AI, VR, blockchain, 3D printing, drones, …
  2. The EuroCloud Awards feature a two-stage competition process and are open to any cloud-computing-based service that can potentially be assessed in the StarAudit Quality Scheme: staraudit.org/assessment/.
  3. The schedule for the EuroCloud Awards is published on the EuroCloud Awards website before the beginning of each EuroCloud Awards process cycle. Each award cycle covers one year, with the first competition stage beginning in the middle of the respective calendar year and the second stage ending in the middle of the following year.
  4. A cloud-computing-based service can be entered into the second stage of the EuroCloud Awards if it achieves a three-star quality level in the StarAudit Assessment as verified by selected and accredited NUBO Community Professionals staraudit.org/nubo/ and the StarAudit Accredited Auditor as a supervisor staraudit.org/valid/. This StarAudit three-star assessment is treated and is valued like a StarAudit Self-Assessment staraudit.org/staraudit-self-assessment/.
  5. The EuroCloud Awards entry process begins with the purchase of a €75 Awards 1st Stage Ticket from the for StarAudit Tools webstore: staraudit.org/home/webshop/. 
  6. In this stage of the competition, entrants propose a unique qualitative category for their nominated service and explain it briefly in the provided fields of the online entry form. The organizer reserves the right to undertake final assignment of the nominated services into appropriate primary as well as second and third categories in consultation with the involved NUBO Professionals and StarAudit Auditor.
  7. The categories and evaluation criteria of the nominated services will be published on the EuroCloud Awards website prior to the start of the second stage of the EuroCloud Awards.
  8. The StarAudit three-star assessment should be performed using the unique code from the Awards 1st Stage ticket. Detailed instructions are available on the EuroCloud Awards website, and candidates are eligible for intensive support via email and teleconferencing tools to successfully complete their StarAudit 3-star assessment prior to the closing date of the first stage of the EuroCloud Awards.
  9. According to the published EuroCloud Awards schedule, accredited NUBO Community Professionals and the StarAudit Accredited Auditor as a supervisor will verify the acceptability of every single first-stage StarAudit 3-star Assessment and report the result to the respective candidate. A positive result means the service can be nominated for the second stage of the EuroCloud Awards. All candidates may download their respective first-stage StarAudit Assessment Report as a valuable guideline for gap analysis.
  10. The EuroCloud Awards process continues with the purchase of a €500 Awards 2nd Stage Ticket StarAudit Tools webstore according to the published EuroCloud Awards schedule by entering the category and code from the Awards 1st Stage Ticket.
  11. The StarAudit 3-star assessment entitles the nominated service to be permanently published and searchable on the EuroCloud website with the corresponding company logo, trademarks, and other marketing details. 
  12. If insufficient details are provided in the application even after a reminder and reconsideration by the organizer, the respective entrant may be eliminated from the judging. All paid entry fees are non-refundable.
  13. The jury consisting of accredited NUBO Professionals and the StarAudit Accredited Auditor will deliver the final contest ruling according to the published EuroCloud Awards criteria and schedule. The jury’s decisions are absolute and final, and no correspondence regarding its decisions will be entered into.
  14. Winners will be announced no later than the beginning of May of the respective Awards cycle.

All information provided and not intended for public marketing announcements on the EuroCloud Awards website will be treated with the strictest confidence and will only be viewed by the judges for the purposes of judging.

  • 31 March 2019 - Deadline for first-stage entries
  • 12 April 2019 – Deadline for first-stage StarAudit Quality Assessments
  • 20 April 2019 – Announcement of categories, direct message call to nominees
  • 20 June 2019 - Deadline for second-stage entries
  • 26 June 2019 - Jury delivers results
  • 30 June 2019 – Winners announced
